Northern Circuit
Welcome to Lake Manyara National Park, home to tree climbing lions, a soda ash lake teeming with hundreds of pink flamingos, Tanzania’s largest elephant population, and stunning landscape!
Lake Manyara National Park is located in northern Tanzania and is known for its eponymous alkaline lake, which serves as a critical home for hundreds of bird species. Thousands of greater and lesser pink flamingos, as well as pink-backed pelicans, yellow-billed storks, grey herons, and hippo pods, congregate on its beaches between November and April.
Marshlands, grassy plains, and acacia trees surround the lake, which are home to tree-climbing lions and long-tusked elephants. Giraffe strut their stuff across the plains, grazing with herds of buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest.
You can relax in the warm, clear water beneath the shade of leafy trees at the Maji Moto hot springs, in addition to going on game drives and walking safaris.
Lake Manyara National Park
The greatest time to see wildlife in Lake Manyara National Park is from late June to October, when the weather is dry. However, during the Wet season, from November to May, when the flora is lush and waterfalls pour down the escarpment, this incredibly magnificent park is at its most stunning.
